How important is an art style for an artist?

Very important! It helps in identifying and differentiating between artist and artist! Every artist should have their own style and manner of drawing.
Somewhat important. An artist should have their own style but it's fine to copy and mimic other artist's styles to practice with permission from them. As long as you don't keep doing it all the time.
Not important. Style doesn't exist -- It's nothing but an illusion to make every artist feel like they're unique.
Nonexistent. Copy, mimic, trace, and draw like other artists. Not to learn but just because you can.

I personally think it's needed to show who the artist is themselves. Without style everyone's uniqueness would be gone.
even if we DO end up taking bits and pieces from all other artists around us, what makes it our own style is the way we change it and make it our own.
